• Who is this course for?

University or college graduates of graphic design, animation, illustration, or similar fields, who want to build on the skills they have to start a career as a Motion Designer.

Don’t have a degree in these areas? Don’t worry. If you’re self-taught or have done other independent courses teaching technical skills like these, then you can apply to Created In Motion Design too.

This course might also be for you if you have a different professional background and are looking to change career and get into the world of motion design. Just make sure you can meet our technical skills requirements (see here).

You must be over 18 years of age to participate in our courses.

  • Do I get any qualifications?

When it comes to qualifications, we’re working outside the system here, so there’s no formal accreditation. We’ve designed this course to support you beyond its nine month duration, setting you up with the tools, skills and experiences to launch and sustain your career.

You’ll be connected with your own network of like-minded creatives and industry professionals in motion design. You’ll have life-long access to your learning content and Created’s Alumni community for ongoing support and collaboration.

You’ll have proven experience of real industry projects with at least five new pieces of work for your portfolio in response to industry briefs, ranging from wildly conceptual to highly practical.  Having developed the core professional skills, awareness and mindset that industry demands, you’ll be ready to launch your career.

  • What companies will I work with?

In 2019, we’re proud to say our Created In Motion Design course partners are:

    BBC Creative
    The Mill

  • What will be in my portfolio?

You will add at least five new pieces of work to your portfolio you’re proud to have made in response to industry briefs. These will cover everything from concept to full delivery. The briefs all change depending on the clients and range from wildly conceptual to highly practical.

  • How much face-time do I get with the Created Team?

The Created team will be at every live event and industry briefing session, so you’ll have the chance to chat to them in person on those days. In between live events, please free absolutely free to email our team with any queries or concerns you have. We’ll also be there every day in the online academy platform, so you can message us with any questions there too. Also, once a month we run drop-in sessions at our head office, so if you want to come and chat to us in person there, you can. You won’t be alone, we’re on-hand to help you!

  • What tools or equipment will I need?

Access to a computer and the following programmes:

    • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator)
    • Cinema 4D (optional)
  • How much does the course cost?

The course cost varies slightly, depending on which payment option you choose:

    Option 1: Pay in full
    £4900, paid in full, up-front
A non-refundable £500 deposit is needed up-front to secure your place

    Option 2: Pay monthly
£5250, paid in monthly instalments (from £472 / month, payable over 9 months)
A non-refundable £1000 deposit is needed up-front to secure your place.

  • Are payment options available?

Absolutely. Once your application has been approved you’ll need to pay a deposit to secure your place. You will be sent an invoice and this can be paid online by credit or debit card, or by BACS.

To pay the remaining balance for the course, you’ve then got two simple options:

    1. Pay for the course in full: payment will need to be received two weeks prior to the course start date.
    2. Pay for the course in monthly instalments: payment for the first instalment will need to be received two weeks prior to the course start date.
  • Do my course fees cover expenses?

Your course fees are inclusive of VAT or other taxes (where applicable) but they don’t cover expenses (such as your travel to our ‘live’ events, software or equipment). These are up to you.

  • Is funding available for additional financial support?

Sadly, not yet. At this time, Created isn’t eligible for government funding in the United Kingdom, including the Professional Career Development Loan. We might be in the future though, so stay tuned.

  • Do I get to choose my coach and mentor?

Created will assign you to your industry mentor and professional coach at the start of the course and you’ll have a chance to meet them both at the onboarding day.  We’ve worked hard to select the best professionals to support you through your journey, but should any issues arise between mentor and participant, or coach and participant, we will do our best to reassign you, subject to availability. We’ll always do our best to help, but please understand that we cannot guarantee that you’ll be able to switch.

  • Can I do the course if I live outside of London?

Yes! The majority of the course takes place online, from wherever you are and at your pace. However, there are six full-day events which you will need to attend in West and Central London.

There are also five in-person briefings, led by our industry partners, which will also take place in Central London. If you can’t make it for whatever reason, they’ll be live-streamed.
