Who are our courses for?
Most of our students are design or creative graduates looking to upskill or get into a specific area of design. Some are also designers, creatives or other people already in work, who are looking to change careers or learn new skills.
In every cohort there’s a mix of skill levels and experience – some students have some self-taught knowledge of the course discipline, some are complete beginners – so we tailor our approach to meet everyone’s learning needs.
Do I get any qualifications?
This is a course unlike any other, so there’s no formal qualification. You will receive a certificate of completion and a badge to display on your LinkedIn or website to show you’ve done the course.
You’ll never get a grade on your course, because that isn’t how the creative industries work. You will get practical feedback from people who already work in the kind of jobs you want. Feedback is so much better than grades. It helps you build-up your skills by giving you a clear direction to follow.
You’ll also get a top-notch portfolio to use as a springboard into your career. We think that’s much better proof of your skills than a piece of paper.
What companies will I work with?
What do I get out of the course?
Trade secrets, a supported, risk-free way to build a portfolio, real industry experience, guidance from experts and an active community that cares. But more than that, you get to kickstart your journey as a creative or your successful career in design.
How you measure that success is up to you. Created courses are not graded and we don’t award an official qualification – we prefer to prepare you for the real world and real jobs.
How much face-time do I get with Created?
You’ll have the chance to chat to us directly at different stages through your course, at check-ins, on Slack and at remote events on the Professional course. You’re also free to email us with any queries or concerns you have.
We’ll be there every day in the online learning platform, so you can message us with any questions there too. Also, once a month we run drop-in sessions online, so if you want to login and talk to a real person, you can. You won’t be alone, we’re on-hand to help you!
What equipment will I need?
All design courses
- Laptop or computer
- Printer (optional)
- Pens and pencils
- Some designers like to use a Wacom tablet, but it’s totally up to you if you want to use one. It’s not needed for your course content.
Your course is designed so you can learn some content in-depth and some on the go. Everything’s online, so you can save a few trees, but sometimes it’s easier to learn by scribbling, sketching and annotating. All your articles, briefs and worksheets will be available to download and print if you need them.
All you need now is a couple of cute succulents and a cheesy motivational poster to make your desk complete!
What software will I need?

- Adobe Creative Cloud: After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premier
- Cinema 4D
Sign-up for Motion Design Professional and get a free six-month student licence for Cinema 4D to use with your studies.
Visual Design courses
- Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.

Do my course fees cover expenses?
There are lots of options to help you spread the cost of your course, but we can’t cover your expenses. Course fees don’t cover tools such as software or equipment, though we do sometimes offer discounts for early enrolment or free licensing for some course software through our partners.
Get in touch with our Admissions team for more information.
Do you offer student financial support?
Created courses are currently not eligible for government funding in the UK (including the Professional Career Development Loan).
However, students can spread the cost of their course by paying in monthly instalments, or we can offer student loans for eligible applicants through our partner, Lendwise.
What if I complete a Foundation course and want to learn more?
If you’ve completed a stand-alone Foundation course and want to move on to the next level, you can join the Industry level of the next available Professional course if you meet the minimum requirements and the course still has vacancies.
Professional courses have two intakes a year in April and October. To find out if you’d be eligible for the next one, contact Admissions.
Do I get to choose my mentor and coach?
Created will assign you an industry mentor and/or professional coach at the start of the course.
You’ll be paired with someone who gets where you are because they’ve been there. Our mentors are all professional designers at the top of their game, so they know what it takes to make it. And they’re here for you. Our coaches (Professional courses only) are professionally trained to help you reach and achieve your full potential.
So shower them with questions, trust their opinions and learn from their successes (and their mistakes). Make the most of them, ‘cos they’re your ticket to the top.
